This
grand Federal style house was built in downtown Delphi in 1844 by
Reed Case, a contractor for much of the construction of the Wabash
& Erie Canal in Carroll County. Case and his family resided in
the home before moving to a grander home. At that time Case turned
the original home into an inn for canal travelers. In
the 1980s the building was donated by owners Jim and June Davis to
the canal organization and moved to Canal Park at 1030 North.
Washington St., Delphi.
The Case House is the centerpiece of the park, which also includes
two log cabins and other buildings that would have been found in
the late 1800s.
